Hi guys! I’m so sorry that I’ve been a little MIA this past week. I’m trying to get into a new schedule now that school has started back up and I don’t have much free time during my work day to get blog work done. However, I’ve got the entire weekend free so I’m going to be doing a lot of pre-planning and I’ll be back in business!
So anyway, if you’ve been following my marathon training program, you may have noticed that I haven’t posted about that, specifically in a few weeks.
Lately, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about this blog, where I’m going with it and where I want it to be and in the same respect, I’ve been thinking a lot about my fitness and where I want to be with that. Have no fear, I’m still going strong on these things and I plan to continue to do so going forward but in needing to keep my sanity, I decided that some changes need to be made.
I decided that I needed to take some time away from posting about my marathon training because I was finding myself feeling very guilty when I was needing to talk about taking a rest day. I also felt like my posts were getting boring, to be honest. So going forward, before I update you weekly again, I need to find a better way to do it. In the meantime, I think I’ll just post milestone weeks (5 weeks down, 10miles down, whatever it may be). I really think this will keep things more interesting for you guys following along and also less stressful on me, weekly. So really, it’s a win-win.
As far as when I will be posting regular blog posts going forward there’s not going to be a huge change from that however, I do think I’m going to start posting less content on a weekly basis. Considering my blog is still small, I feel like I can safely change up the way I do things until I really find what works both for me and in a way that keeps y’all wanting to come back again and again. I had begun to feel like posting on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday was getting to be too much and honestly, many times I wondered if I was putting out content just to put it out and have something up. Because of this mindset, I think some of my quality suffered. So, going forward I’m going to try posting only on Wednesdays & Saturdays.
Yep. 2 days a week. The hope is that these two posts a week are going to be full of amazing, quality content that I haven’t needed to stress over. I can still give myself time to work on them and I can still give myself time to interact with you guys on social media, which I know is super important. Outside of my posts, something that I feel has been suffering lately is my readership and I really want this blog to grow and reach people and I think posting too much has been a downfall for that aspect. So we’re going to try this little experiment and see how it works out. I may end up changing things around again in the future but for now, I feel good about this change.
I’m really excited to be taking a bit of the weight off my shoulders. Sometimes thats necessary to grow and keep yourself sane. I hope y’all can be excited for some better, higher quality content even if it’s not as regular.
