Casual Outfits + How Time Changes Everything

Hello there, friends!

Today, I wanted to share with you some of my very favorite casual outfits that I will 100% be rocking this fall.  I don’t know about y’all, but I am sooo ready for Fall to get here.  I have been feeling anxious about the year being more than half way through.  This will likely be our last Fall in Pennsylvania and that’s a little sad for me.  Fall is my absolute favorite time of year and if we move South like we’re wanting, Fall will slip right through my fingers.  Unless we come back to visit (which we will likely do), this will be our last for awhile and that makes me sad.  However, I’m just going to cherish this Fall with everything I’ve got!

So onto today’s outfits.  I literally just got these jeans (like they came over the weekend in the mail) from Roolee and I am so mega-obsessed with them!  I’ve been wanting a pair of boyfriend-like jeans for a good while now and when I saw these on Roolee I had to have them!  You can order them here if you like!  Since I’m feeling very much in an Autumn-y mood I’ve pair these jeans with just a plain black tee-shirt and I’ve wrapped a flannel around my waist.  I then just popped on my very favorite gray booties (the one’s I’m wearing are from Bass and I couldn’t find them but I’ve linked a few similar styles below), my Ralph Lauren baseball cap and my well-loved Fossil cross-body bag (I’ve linked similar styles below because I’ve had this forever because they literally last forever! I promise you’d get your money’s worth!).

For this second outfit I paired my all-time favorite black jeans which you guys are probably tired of seeing, my favorite, cozy-as-anything chambray button down, just a plain brown belt and my Sperrys…super simple!

I’ve been thinking a lot recently about how time changes so much.  Last night we were going through pictures from when we first bought our house and how much it’s changed.  We’ve been here for almost two years (Sept. 28 it’ll be two years holy cow!) and it seems like we’ve been here for a long time but then I look at those photos and it doesn’t seem like it’s been that long, really.  In the two years that we’ve been here we’ve done so many renovations and we have changed so much in the house.  Even just this time last year so much of our home was different.

But, I was also thinking about how time changes things not even necessarily physically, like in the house, but just how life has changed in general.  This time last year, Ryan and I were in a totally different place.  We had different goals, different dreams about where we wanted to see ourselves.  With this blog, this time last year, I had a totally different mentality about it and that’s all changed so dramatically.  Everything is just so different and it’s really amazing to think back a year, or two years, or four years and think about how your life has changed in that short time.

I also can’t help but think about how in just a short year from now, things are going to be so so different.  Ryan and I won’t be living here in our house.  We could be living in a new state.  Ryan won’t be in the military anymore.  We could have a baby either here or on the way.  Everything is going to change so much.  These types of changes are things I am both excited for and little nervous for, simultaneously.

Seeing changes, I think, is an amazing way to track where you’re going by knowing where you’ve been (yep…totally stole that from Moana).

Have a fabulous end to your week and I’ll talk to you lovelies on Saturday!
